Increasing Biomass Yields in Sorghum

In a U.S. field evaluation, one of our leading biotech traits provided a greater than 30% biomass yield advantage in our leading commercial sorghum hybrids. Our crop developers also reported that Ceres’ trait, which is based on a gene originally sourced from a sorghum plant, could expand the harvest window, improve dry down following harvest and increase the palatability of the biomass for cattle.

We plan to complete additional evaluations of its biotech traits in forage sorghum this season. Field evaluations represent a critical stage in the development of biotech crop traits, as they provide greater insight into how traits may perform in an agricultural setting.
