Increasing Rice Yields On Poor Soils

In rice, our traits for high grain yield and greater yield stability have advanced well past proof-of-concept, and are moving forward to the next stage of development, which will lead to field evaluations of our biotech traits in hybrid rice.

This work is funded in part by a grant from the U.S. Agency for International Development, or USAID. The USAID grant to Ceres is part of Feed the Future, the U.S. government’s global hunger and food security initiative. The goal of the trait development and commercialization program is to increase rice yields, especially under stress conditions and on poor soils
